Your friendly neighborhood den mothers are hard at work making sure that we can bring DDPP back as safely as possible without having to sacrifice the things we love about our dance parties.

We are targeting to be back LIVE after Labor Day 2021 – likely in a new space!

Stay tuned for more information. We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to be together again!

BLM – Match Our Donation

BLM

DDPPLA is a small community of dancers who pride ourself on providing a safe space for our members. We are committed to #dothework, and to better ourselves, especially when it comes to our BIPOC members.

During this time, we will use our platform to amplify black voices.

Off of social media, we will take this time to listen, unlearn, and reflect on ways we can improve DDPPLA to be a welcoming space for ALL womxn and non-binary folx.

We will be matching donations up to $500 to ActBlue, a non-profit that distributes contributions to bail-out funds across the country to the following organizations
-Black Lives Matter Global Network
-Reclaim The Block
-National Bail Out
-Black Visions Collective
-NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund

Virtual DDPP

LAST VIRTUAL DANCE PARTY WILL BE SUNDAY JULY 5TH UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

DDPPLA will be taking off from our live dance parties until further notice

BUT WE CAN’T STOP WON’T STOP
We will be bringing the DDPP experience to you in your living room through the magic of the internet PLEASE NOTE: Virtual dance parties will be open to all womxn, female identified, non-binary, and gender expansive dancers. If you live with a dude who would like to dance with you, he is welcome to participate.

HERE’S HOW IT WILL WORK

  • We will be using ZOOM to gather online
  • A different DDPP chapter will be the “host” of each dance party – you will be dancing with people all over the country!
  • The playlist link will be posted ahead of time on our Facebook and Instagram pages. You control the music in your own living room
  • The link will be open 10 minute prior to the listed time if you have any questions or trouble. Please be on time!
  • Dancing will start at 5 after the hour
  • Mute your audio when you arrive
  • A host will give some brief instructions and then a 3-2-1 countdown for you to hit play on your playlist!
  • Dance your quarantined heart out!

IF YOU HAVE NEVER USED ZOOM
Restart your computer if you haven’t done so in a while.
Click the link on your phone or computer.

COVID-19

We know that you may be worried about participating in social events during the COVID 19 outbreak.
Currently, the LA County Department of Health has not recommended the cancelation of public events, though they do advise people to practice good public health hygiene.

We wanted to share the following tips and precautions for dancers:
1. Please wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face.
2. There will be hand sanitizer on site to refresh your hands between songs.
3. If you are feeling ill or under the weather please sit this one out.

We are doing our best to be safely social in the face of this virus.
Hope to see you this Sunday
